WSOP Super Satellite

Most of us grew up watching players like Barry Sanders and Joe Montana make other, highly skilled, professional athletes look absolutely silly. A number of players who tried to get their mits specifically on Mr. Sanders would end up looking more like circus mime instead of football player. While coming of age with these images in our minds, many of us harboured secret dreams of playing sports at that level. Of course actually strutting on to the same field with the big boys was an impossibility for most of us. In many cases the start of a rather interesting mid-life crisis is the acceptance that you will never step onto a sports field wearing the uniform of a pro athlete. Poker is not as unforgiving as most other sports. Regardless of age, physical condition, and station in life, there is an avenue for a player to appear at the table, and square off against the best the sport has to offer.

On July 28th, 2006 the World Series of Poker will begin holding its championship events. On June 25th, 2006, anybody with $230 in their pocket, and dreams of the WSOP Gold Bracelet being placed around their wrist can enter the satellite tournament.

The Rio All Suites Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas will be holding a number of WSOP qualifying tournaments, the fist of these being the Super Satellite on June 25th. Players must be registered and in their seats, ready to play some serious Hold'em, at 3:00 PM.

In this tournament you are allowed multiple re-buys at $200 a pop during the first three levels of play. After that, you are on your own with no safety net.

The number of folks that get sent to the WSOP from this tournament will depend on how many players participate. The buy-ins will be converted into as many $10,000 WSOP seats as they can purchase.

In order to play you must register at least two hours before the event and have in your possession and WSOP player's card. For further details contact the Rio All Suites Hotel. Good Luck!
